Three students competed in a State/National STAR Event: Jorja Brown, Taylor Cole, and Teddee Samuelson.
Taylor Cole's Iowa Event was in Cake Decorating in which she placed 2nd in the state among 11-12 grade students. Taylor chose to make her cake look like a sunset with the words, "Be the Light. Be the Change."

Lylly's event required her to select and cook a dish that she felt represents "Iowa," she chose to make Chili and Cinnamon Rolls while incorporating Page County raised beef and sweet corn.
Paige May and Tobi Sunderman each competed in the $15 Clothing Challenge. Paige and Tobi had to purchase a complete outfit for under $15 at a second-hand clothing store. They then each had to write a report, be interviewed, and model their outfits in front of the whole conference.
